Custom fw on GOW SE PSP

Im tring to install a cfw on my son' red gow se psp slim but Im have technical difficulties. The psp is a psp-2001 a red god of war special edition psp that came with fw 3.95. I created a magic stick and pandorad battery with my old phat psp w/cfw 5.00m33-4. When I try to install on new psp I just get a black screen but on my phat psp it goes to the menu to downgarde and install cfw. Can someone help me out with this problem please.

what is the magic memory stick set up to install and what app did you use to make it with??

There is a real good chance that it has the new motherboard TA-88v3 that is unhackable at this time. Altho most of them come with 4.01 installed there are reports of some with 3.95 installed. The Madden set has had both versions reported and I believe that there are some GOW also. The first releases were fine but the newer production models have been changed. This is typical of how the new motherboard reacts with pandora but there could be some other problems with the memory stick that could also cause it. The developers are working on this problem now but there is no timeline as to when a fix might be possible.

Thanks for the quick reply, I used a few apps RainsUltraliteMMS401v11, 14414_PandorasBoxinstaller, and 14749_TOTALNewbieasyInstallerPandorasmenu.

I hope this psp doesn't have the new mob but thats my luck if it is, my son will be almost as disappointed as I will be.

After several attempts and finally using PSP Pandora Deluxe v2.9 I was able to install cfw. All is good now and what a relieve that it did not have the new mobo.

Good to hear, don't know why but it seems that sometimes you have to take a run at several different installers before you get one that works on a particular PSP/memorystick combination. Now the next one might require the Rains or some other installer.

If you get a chance try the new Pandora Deluxe 3.0, it actualy makes the DCv8 that installs 5.01m33-4 directly plus adds a bunch of tools also.
