Want to know why the screen turned blue and then red, and why henb sometimes doesn't work? Its because your pressing the wrong button to load henb.

I'am supposing most of the people on this board are pressing X to load HENB.

Well that's wrong. There is a secret to getting the program to work properly. I'll think If I should tell people what it is since it is a well kept secret.

Ok fine I'll splurt it out. Usually you press X to load HEN-D. Thats is mostly why people are having problems. Instead press start when you are at the folder for loading HEN-D.

This way the start button well only load that program unlike the X button, which when pressed, psp tries to load all the applications on your psp. Hopefully that well help. If it still doesn't work you probably didn't install it properly. Well have fun people

I have question for people running the new Devhook v0.51 for 2.71fw with
"TA-082"what is the clock speed you people use or wich is the normal clockspeed, Between slow clockspeed and Overclocked? Just wondering, thanks!

Just a quick note: Since you may now by now there is a downgrader for ta-082 psps with firmware 2.71. Although if you really want to use the downgrader than go ahead but theres always a bricking possibility so i would stick with this way just for a bit longer till there is a full proof downgrader.

how do you play 2.8 ISO if you have done this already!

Thanks for this.My PSP would have been Bricked without it.Now that this works I can play GBA Emu and .ISO's of some games. But for .ISO's of game with 2.8fw is there anyway to play them.My brother wants to play Sonic and I want to play Mind Quiz.
I also found a post saying eloader would allow ta-082 psp to run homebrew and .ISO's and also another process of doing it. Is maybe one of those a way to play 2.8fw games? Either way Thank You So much!!!!

Nevermind, I figured it out on my own. This lets you play games with 2.8 firmware.Duh!Sorry about wasting space with my post.I was woundering if that new N64 Emu was any good. Anyone tried it yet!
Thanks for all the help! I'm going to give you guys credit on every site I use.

**ATTENTION NEW BREAKTROUGH UPDATE NOW WE HAVE DEVHOOK HYBRID 3.00 FOR TA-082 **
!!Dont even begin reading unless your psp is fw 2.71!!!

**Alright there is finally an upgrade for TA-082 users now we have access to the new update HEND! which includes dax and jso support+ 2.71/3.00 hybrid for the latest games out and with a new devhook GUIMOD. And now this is easier to install than ever i tried my best to make it as simple as possible hope you enjoy it **

Like always i strongly recommend you to 1st format your memory stick (warning this will erase everything in your memory stick) while thats going make your way to this link to download the all the files you need
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ] the password is *h3llz*

Now that you have all the files downloaded extract the files and you will see the folder mp-root open it and you will see all the files you need alredy set so all you need to do is select all files and drag and drop it to your psp's memory (some files like "psp" will ask if you want to overwrite or that there is alredy a folder of the same name just click yes to all) now after thats done your psp memory stick should look like this

After you do that congrats! you have installed the update. Note: you dont have to have the previous version so this can work just incase you where wondering. Now the same proccess as the previous version applies 1st-dont have a umd inserted 2nd-go to the photo xmb of your psp and click on the hend and on the fuzzy picture now your psp will turn blue for few secs and restart (if it dosent restart your psp and its stil loading turn off psp and retry)

"Now this is the devhook part" paying attetion you will notice you have 2 devhooks one thats the devhook0.4x launcher and the other one which is the new one devhook gui launcher mod now make sure you have a umd on before procceeding any further...got it? good...now the only devhook that can work at the moment would be the devhook0.4x launcher this devhook is a basic devhook that plays any 2.71 game and below with no probs, in order to be able to play games with the new HYBRID devhook you would need to do the following:

1.Go on devhook0.4x launcher and enter the following settings
  • UMD Select > Umd Disc
  • Firmware > 1.5
  • Cpu > 222/111 mhz
  • Boot select > Reboot xmb
Now your psp is emulating to firmware 1.5....you will get an error ignore it

2. Now launch the devhook gui launcher
  • Umd select > w/e iso you wanna play
  • Firmware > 2.71
  • Cpu > 266/133 mhz (any higher and wireless cant happen)
  • Umd mount > Iso any umd
  • Boot select > Reboot xmb
Basic stuff, now your psp's going back to the home screen with a black screen sayin 2.71-3.00 hybrid and you can access your game as if it was in your umd.

EXTRA NOTES: once you have activated your devhook hybrid and your home screen has the blk screen and all, you can turn of your psp but dont hold the power button for the full 7secs because it will shut down the hend there for making you do the whole proccess agin.

to switch between isos in the home screen just hold home+L or R to cycle trough your isos.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

*The reason im posting this is because i had a few troubles with this process and hopefully this guide would make it easier for some people that are stuck doing this*
*This is the way i did there might be a simpler way or w/e but this is how i did it and it works like a charm*

Make sure your psp is at fw 2.71 just to begin with ..and get the following 3 files: homebrew enabler, devhook launcher and 1.50 fwdump from here..
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

i would recomend to format your memory stick so your card is clean and with nothing extra. now the first thing u need to do is put the homebrew enabler files in your memory stick. go inside the ms_root folder of the homebrew enabler and look for the psp folder, click on it and you will see the game and photo folders, put these in your psp's game and photo folder so right now it should look like this.

after you done that, copy the remaning files from the mp_root folder from the homebrew enabler without touching the psp folder since you took care of that alredy into the main mp_root of your psp memory stick and then go back to the other folder named src and copy that as well in the main mp_root of your memory stick. now your done with the homebrew part. That is prolly the hardest part in this whole process.

now you need to copy the files of the devhook launcher, same thing as the homebrew go in the ms-root of the devhook files and go on the psp folder and copy the game folder files on the psp's memory stick game files.
than you copy the dh folder of the devhook launcher into the psp's main ms_root. And the last step is to copy the src folder that the devhook folder comes with the same place where you copied the hombrews src folder into your memory stick. that will cover the devhook part.

And now for the 1.50fw dumper file the easiest part of the whole process all you do is copy the flash 0, flash 1 and reboot.bin files and folders into the main ms_root in yor memory stick now to finish this all up make a iso folder in the main mp_root of your memory stick and make sure you have a iso (iso or cso files only) in it so you can test the game if it works or not.
heres how your psp's main ms_root should look like.

Ok now to make this work, turn on your psp and go to the photo viewer and you should have the henb picture in it click on it and your psp's screen should go blue and then it should restart your psp if it doesnt do that than just restart your psp and try agin if the problem continues make sure you have put the files in there right places, After your psp has restarted use the devhook launcher make sure you dont have any umd inserted in your psp, than select iso under UMD selec, 2.71 (flash) under firmware, cpu clock should be 222mhz, boot select should be 'reboot xmb, than the psp should restart insert the umd and it should have load the iso hit x and it should load your game.

*Sadly you have to always use the same process to activate devhook but it isnt that hard once you get it. Whenever you go back to your psps home make sure you turn off your psp by holding the power off button for the full 7 secs so it comepletely cacels the HENB program thats working otherwise when you wanna do the same process agin it wont turn your psp screen blue.*

*While in the devhook menu go to other menus and select on umd sfo versions and click on 2.xx to 2.00 you need to do this so you wont have any probs with some isos in the future.*
I used this tutorial for my ta-082 PSP and it works great.I was going to fix my friends after he buys a memory stick but I don't know a whole lot about it's specs. It isn't a TA-082. It had a lower firmware than what GTA:ViceCity Stories has because that is the game he used to upgrade his firmware to 2.81.
Now,since it didn't come out with 2.81 is there any options for him. Could he uprade to 3.xx Custome firmware or maybe use some type of downgrader. Would selecting the option on XMB for factory or default get him back to his original firmware and then up/downgrade from there?
Any suggestions at all. Really would appreciate it.

Is there another location to get the Hybrid Devhook from? The link supplied no longer works.
