How to install 3.03 OE-C on a 1.50 or 3.03 OE PSP
Before installing, you have 2 options.
Manualy
3.03 OE-C Easy Flasher (Already contains the DATA.DXAR file)
If you have a TA-082 motherboard i would recomend following the Manual guide listed below. If you are very impatient and think this is too many steps then you should go for the easy installer. Myself, i would create my own files no matter what PSP im using becuase i think it is the safest.
Easy to Use Flasher Installation Guide
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ] the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Put the files 303oeflasher% and 303oeflasher folders in PSP\GAME150 folder
Follow steps 8-12 in the Manual installation guide bellow
Manual 3.03 OE-C Installation Guide
Download and decompress [Only registered and activated users can see links. ][Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Copy the directories oeupdmaker, oeupdmaker%, 303oeflasher, and 303oeflasher% to /PSP/GAME/ if you are using 1.50, or to /PSP/GAME150 if you are using other OE firmwares
Download the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], rename it to "150.PBP", and put it in the oeupdmaker folder.
Download the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], rename it to "303.PBP", and put it in the oeupdmaker folder.
On your PSP, run the 3.03 OE-C Update Maker program. This program will create a file called DATA.DXAR (if you are having trouble making this file, please use the OE-C easy flasher listed above) in the oeupdmaker folder
Move the DATA.DXAR from oeupdmaker to 303oeflasher directory
On your PSP, run the 3.03 OE-C Firmware Install program. Make sure your battery is at 75% or the firmware installation will not let u proceed. I would suggest leaving it in the charger as well.
The Firmware Installer will bring up a message, press X to proceed with the installation. Please read the whole message before continuing.
Once finished, it will tell you to Restart your PSP manually. Do that and proceed to the next step.
One you have 3.03 OE-C format your memory stick so OE-C can create the necessary files needed !Don't forget to make a back up for your saved data!
Enjoy your 3.03 OE-C custom firmware!
How to install the included PRX plugins
To make your experience with OE-C a little better, i have included some plugins to make you spice up your PSP. These plugins are not necessery but are a cool thing to have.
Download and decompress [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], if you didnt already
Copy the seplugins folder to your PSP, placing it on the outermost directory
Restart your PSP in recovery mode, then go to "Plugins" of the menu and enable all of them.
For more awsome plugins that everyone will want, go to [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
How to run homebrew and games on 3.03 OE
I made this section becuase people kept on asking me where to put the homebrew files they have downloaded. So here is a short explanation on how to do that.
Some homebrews come with two files (ex. 303oeflasher and 303oeflasher%) and some with one. Put them both in the PSP\Game150 folder and launch them on your psp!
To run ISOs and CSOs, put the games in the ISO folder located in the root of your memory stick. That is where the PSP folder is located.
How to downgrade back to 1.5 (From OE-C custom firmware to 1.5)
This can also be helpfull if you brick your psp. You can unbrick it with the following guide.
Download the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Go into recovery or XMB and access your usb
Put the RECOVERY folder in the PSP/GAME folder which should include the UPDATE.PBP which is the 1.50 update eboot
Close ur USB and access your Recovery menu
Make sure you have 75% battery left becuase this will flash your psp and format ur flash0
Click on Run program at /PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP
Do not turn off your psp. Let it go untill it asks for you to restart manually.
Check your PSP Settings and you should be back at 1.5
Now you have a choice of staying at 1.5 or going back up again to 3.03 OE-C.
How to play PS1 games on 3.03 OE-C
Becuase Dark_Alex is so smart, he has included a [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] emulator in his custom firmware already "built in". This emulator can only run eboot.pbp games so get the converter [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. To use, Extract to a folder then run PopStationGUI.exe and locate your PS1Game.bin or .iso and press "Go". For more advanced users, you can press "Edit Eboot" and add a [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] to it.
Becuase I am so nice i have included a small game pack including: Mortal Combat 4, Thrill Kill, Tekken 3, Tony [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] 4, and Ridge Racer. Get it [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].
Extract the games and leave them in their folders
When you make your own game/convert you have to leave it as EBOOT.PBP and KEYS.BIN, but you can put them in a folder by what the game is called.
One you have your games in EBOOT.PBP form, put it in your PSP/GAME folder.
Go to your PSP, Go to Game, then go to ur Memory Card. Your game should be there. If you converted and didnt add a picture to the ebbot, it will show a picture of a Golf Game.
Launch ur game by pressing X
To exit press HOME, and from there you can even change the screen size.
Enjoy your PS1 games!

Changing your XMB Icon titles
Example: Music -> Muzic, Memory Stick -> Gaming Crazy
Use the drop down boxes to select the menu name you want to change, and then use the edit box below the name to customize it the way you like
Click the "Temp Save" button to see your changes reflected on the right
When you have finished making all of your changes, click the "! Swap It !" button. The blue names on the right will become the new names. Your topmenu_plugin file is now swapped with your custom names!
Changing your XMB (By this means flashing) !Do this at your own risc, read this guide carefully!
This XMB theme is made by BadLTD, so he gets credit for the XMB. Thanks to him, we are going to make your XMB look like this:
Since this involes flashing your PSP, a brick might happen. If it does please scroll up to the "How to Downgrade back to 1.5" to unbrick it.
First download the needed files here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Then follow this guide to make space in your flash0 folder needed to make this work. Use the first guide givent there: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Once done, you can delete the folders that you added for the Flash Agent. By the way, you need this to make room becuase the files in the theme are bigger than the original ones.
Now go to Recovery
Go to advanced
Plug a USB cable to your psp and your computer
Press on Flash0 and it will enable it
Go to your computer, a folder will open, if not go to My computer then to Removable Disc X (X is for whatever your drive is)
Now find the folder called vsh and make a copy of it on your desktop for a backup if something goes wrong
Now go to vsh/resource and take the files from the XMB Theme you just downloaded called topmenu_plugin.rco, system_plugin_bg.rco, and 01-12.bmb and replace/overwrite the original ones in the vsh/resource
Now go to ur PSP and click on Flash0 again and that will disable flash0
Now exit recovery menu and it should work
If your background is white, go to your Theme settings, and make it the first one, it should be like a white square ont he menu. (If everything went good, skip to Step 16)
If something went wrong and you cant enter ur XMB, go back to recovery and replace ur vsh folder with your backup
If that still didnt fix your problem, then scroll up to "How to downgrade back to 1.5" and follow that. That will unbrick your PSP. Now you can get back 3.03 OE-C and everything should be fixed.
Enjoy your new modded XMB!
Questions and Answers:

I follow your guide and successfully upgrade my psp to 303 OE without any difficulties whatsoever
I forgot to make a back up for my saved data when I format my memory stick though,, so I lost them all
just a suggestion: in "Manual 3.03 OE-C Installation Guide" section step 10, maybe u can add a sentence: "Don't forget to make a back up for your saved data !!"
Cheers mate.
I've been reading for the past few days about custom firmware, and whether to get it.
These two questions really nailed the descision though.
Thanks mate
