In fact I have 2 questions maybe you could help me with:

I have a 256 stick already and was wondering when I get the 4 gig from this company, and do the install, after I dump the install and downgrade/upgrade files to my computer, to use the 4 gig stick for games, I want to use the 256 as a backup with those files. I understand that it has to be specially formatted to work right for another install like on another psp. My question is what would be the best program or way to format the 256 stick for these files to work on the psp and would you think the company I am buying it from would have it specially formatted for only the files they created?

2nd question deals with the Pandora Battery upgrade, it comes with 3.80M33-5 and then has the files to upgrade to 3.9 then 4.0 with the added 1.50 kernels for each. I was reading up on the 4.0 with 1.50 kernel causing some minor problems with a few error messages especially with homebrews, etc on fat psps. My question is should I just upgrade to 3.9 then stop or go ahead and upgrade to the 4.0, in other words, in your opinion, is it stable enough on the fat psp or is Dark Alex starting to write more now for the slim, or would it matter?

Tks and sorry to be so long winded.

and tks for the link skidpro

Need to know what operating system are you running?

Thanks old git9 and Gandalf for their patience and help here, much appreciated for us noobies...

guy's, i know what you mean. when i first started out, i had been to some other well known psp sites, asking easier questions than what you have asked. and i was flamed to high heaven and back. and from that day on, i vowed, i wouldn't be the same as those pricks! and luckily for me, i found this site and my knowledge grew. and i have helped many people since i joined. and i have always said, "no matter how stupid you might think the question is or how many times the same question has been asked, ask it." because we do not judge or flame. we just like to help people and spread our knowledge.

This will work on either HERE

Download the file that is attached to the post and follow the directions in the post. If you can't get this to work I have one in mind just for XP, but this is the simplest to run.

heh, your mood says cynical but you are all so helpful When does the mood thing appear? How many posts does it take to get it?

oh And thanks for the info on the TM config txt file...and the VSH menu, I was always led to believe that to run iso's/cso's u had to have a UMD disc in the drive, also I was wondering if anyone has used a good UMD dumper besides phonics? Any alternatives? the dax dumper I cant figure out how to install it...any tips please?

First off the mood thing is broke. The ones you see are stuck and new ones will not appear.

You do not need an iso dumper, there is one built into the custom firmware.

To do this, press SELECT this will bring up the VSH menu. Scroll down to USB DEVICE, it should be set on memory stick. Press the left button on the D pad once and it should change to UMD Disk. Exit out, and connect up to computer with USB Cable. Place the UMD into the PSP that you want to extract. Open up windows explorer. Find your PSP drive and you will notice that there is a file named UMD9660.ISO . This is your game(or movie) ISO file. Copy this file to your computer and rename to the name of the game keeping it kinda short. When you are finished remember to change the setting in the VSH menu back to memory stick so you can copy stuff back to it.
