Also, I did make the stick with Pandora Deluxe after downloading the official 4.01 and not adding anthing else but DCv7, I just have to get my hands on my nieces PSP to try it out.
4cs gave me this link copotay for cheap mem cards in USA and I can buy too:

I think that is very useful

Tks for the link skid, just getting back online from the hurricane, the eye of it passed right over us and took out our power for several days. Talk about stressed out, been through a few over the years and this one was bad but not as bad as some I have been through.

I think this link will take you directly to the correct post. If not it is post #30. There is an attached file to it called DCv4-TM.rar. Follow the directions on the post and use the attached file. I have used it on both XP and Vista and so far has seemed to be the easiest for most newcomers. It starts up a little differently than most pandora memory sticks because you have to hold the up button on the D pad while inserting the pandora tool battery to enter the pandora menu. When you first start to do it there is an option to back up nand, do that first and save it on your comp in a safe place, preferably in a folder named 3.95 PSP Phat Nand Dump, that makes it easy to identify. After it finishes you will probably have to start the whole process over to get back to the pandora menu.
Hi Gandlaf,

A while back you were kind enough to help me convert my phat PSP to custom firmware.

My question is.

The above guidance you gave me, would this work on a slim PSP as well?

Thanks in advance

Yes, the same thing that you did for the phat will also work on the slim with no problems.

Hi Gandalf,

I have now got this other PSP & it is a phat model running 4.05 at present.

When I run the install.bat from the DC-v4 download it all seems to go okay creating the stick, but then when I put the datel tool in hold down the up arrow nothing happens, just a blank screen!

Is PSP firmware 4.05 not able to be customised using this method?

The other PSP I done with your guidance & theis method is absolutely fine.

Thanks in advance.

The firmware makes no difference as it is the hardware that controls that. The PSP in service mode boots up independent of the firmware.

2 things:

First, make sure that the datel tool battery is fully charged and no AC adapter is plugged in when the battery in inserted to start the installation process. If the power light does not at least come then there is a problem with the battery.

Second, make sure that the memory stick is magic gate supported by checking it in a PSP by going to memory stick but do not press X to enter the mem stick press the triangle button and from there select information from the right side menu. There should be 3 lines of info, the last one should say something about magicgate. If it says "Unknown" then it is a fake and is inapproiate for the whole pandora process, if it says "Supported" then it is genuine and should work with no problem.

Try using the same computer and memory stick that you used on the successful instalation.

Post back if it still does not correct itself and we can try another method.

Hi gandalf.

You were correct.

The memeory stick given to me was non magic gate so I used my proven one & it was fine.

Thanks again for excellent help.

Re: Pandora's Jigkick + Magic Memory Card Easy Installer Tutorial

Hi,

I am gonna try to create a pandora battery and the mem stick. Problem is that I only have 1 mem stick (4GB) but I have a spare battery. I will keep the spare as a permanent pandora.

If I were to create a working magic stick and copy ALL the files in it to a folder on my computer as a backup. In case of any future brick, can I just use the mspformat on any other MS and copy the backup into it and use it as a magic stick? WIll that work? Or I need to recreate everything again?

Thanks
