Re: [Guide] How to manually install custom firmware v4.01m33-2

Thanks very much for this guide, I successfully upgraded my psp from 3.03 OE-A all the way to 3.52MEE-4 and I'm doing the 4.01MEE-v2 upgrade now.

One question if anyone's around, I'm at the screen where its unpacking (presumably the 4.01 official sony pbp) and it's written "Unpacking... done. Please wait..." That seems fine but its been on that please wait screen for about 8 minutes now, is this right?
Should it take this long? I've read the tutorial and I believe I should be waiting for a "press x to start the update" to appear on the screen but it seems to have hung at "Please wait...".

Should I restart the psp and try again, or keep waiting or what?

Thanks

EDIT: Just restarted the psp, tried again, same thing.
Can't seem to get passed the please wait.. screen. Any ideas?

in the recovery menu, make sure that your kernal setting is at "kernal 350". and try again. it should work.

You need to press the SELECT and enter the VSH menu scroll down to the UMD ISO Mode and change the setting to either Sony NP9660 or M33 Driver by using either the left or right D pad buttons. Exit out and the game ISO/CSO should work now.
