There is another way to make the memory stick to go straight to 4.01m33-2, but there is no guide and I'll have to walk you thru it on IM.

| Administrator ![]() ![]() | Re: [Guide] How to manually install custom firmware v4.01m33-2 The problem is that you have an official firmware PSP and can not run these programs. They are designed for lower version custom firmware to manually upgrade. From the start of the guide: "Requirements for the update:- A psp (fat or slim) on custom firmware v3.52m33-4 or above. See the below note (1) if your psp is on v3.51m33-7 or below." The only way you have to put custom firmware on your PSP is to use a Pandora Battery AND a magic memory stick.

| Re: [Guide] How to manually install custom firmware v4.01m33-2 Yes i had the same problem a few days back and Gandalf gave me some great advice. If you read some of my queastions over the last few posts you will find what your looking for. Indeed i had a PSP on version 4.01 so i also needed a Pandoras battery, again somebody has even posted a link to a site where you can get one at a very good price including a 4gig stick. Then just take it from there when you need to change the firmware. It's well worth doing as you have iso's and cso's to play. Off to play my PSP hope you sort it m8! |

If it is one for the phat(older version, has 2 folders with one having a % sign on it) then it will not work on the slim and you need to get one that is made for the slim or the 3.xx kernel. Check your post in the pspcomic thread.

| Super Moderator ![]() ![]() | Re: [Guide] How to manually install custom firmware v4.01m33-2 when you go and rename the eboot. it should look like this "401.pbp" (without the quotations). if that doesn't work, then rename the eboot to "401" (without the quotations) and try again. or you could download the file form the server. but as you already have it, there is no point. |
