| GamingCrazy Newbie ![]() | Updated guide on how to get PSX on 3.90mm-3 I searched plenty of sites, and never found exactly what I needed to get Popsloader 3.80mm to work on 3.90mm-3. Finally, I was able to gather resources from several sites, and hopefully with this my first tut, I would have been able to help those who needed it. Your going to need the following files, and they can be downloaded here, [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] Description of Files PSX2PSP v1.3 - (This was created by KingSquitter, it's his latest version of PopStation GUI. This will all you to convert your PS1 image files to a PSP eboots. It supports mult-disc games, and it will convert them to a single eboot). 3.80mm33 version 2 - Popsloader created by Dark Alex Pops - firmware from 3.00 - 3.72 *note In order for PSX2PSP to work properly I have placed base.pbp, and keys.bin files in the PSX2PSP\Files directory. This will eliminate that missing base.pbp error msg., and eliminate the need to have keys.bin loaded with the eboot of your game. This next piece I learned from acidy from AfterDawn, and I want to give him all the credit. I feel it's important to pass along so you can understand how popsloader works. 1. Info on popsloader : Popsloader increases the compatibility of PSX games on the PSP ![]() PSX games work on the PSP due to "pops" ![]() Different firmwares have different "pops" and some PSX games work only on specific "pops" ![]() So, if you update your firmware, a new pops will be loaded and there may be chances that a PSX game that worked in the previous firmware will not work in the new firmware or the game may have many problems >_< This is where popsloader comes in ![]() Popsloader allows you to choose which firmware "pops" you want to emulate so that you can allow the PSX game to work even on a "firmware in which that PSX game doesn't work" ![]() eg : If you have a PSX game and it works properly on 3.52m33-4 ![]() But then you update your PSP to 3.71m33-4 and find that the PSX game doesn't work properly >_< Now comes in the work of popsloader ![]() After installing popsloader, you can choose the option 3.52 "pops" and now, the PSX game will work on 3.71m33-4 the same way like how it worked in 3.52m33-4 2. Being that this tut is for those who want to get their own backed up PSX games onto their 3.90mm-3 PSP's, you have to download Dark Alex's latest popsloader 3.80mm version 2. You then install the seplugins folder into the root of your psp. You then open the seplugins folder and you will see a popsloader folder, you have to copy all the files from the Pops 3.00-3.72 into the the popsloader folder. The reason you do this is that this allows you to select a specific firmware to work with your game. 3. Now you have to completely shut down the PSP, and go into recovery mode. (For those who don't know hold down the Right trigger, while starting the PSP) Go to plugins, and enable popsloader.prx. Then reboot. 4. Now you can go into your newly backed up psx game, and when you initially start it, you will get a popsloader menu, starting with 3.00, and ending with 3.72. I have found that most games work with 3.72. Once you have selected that, you will never have to select it again, unless it didn't work for you and you need to select another one. For those who didn't know, like myself, when you restart your psx game hold down the right trigger to bring up the popsloader menu, and select another one. 5. Again, I want to say thank you to Acidy, who really helped me out, in understanding how this works. I really hope this helps out guys, good luck. The PSX2PSP allows you to customize your image, with nifty png's and ico files. You can go to the PopStation ImagePacks site and get what you need. Here's the link:[Only registered and activated users can see links. ] This concludes my tutorial. I truly hope that it helps all of you out. |

| GamingCrazy Newbie ![]() | I'm not sure that particular PSX game works. Check to see if it's on the list [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] If it's not there than I don't think it's been tested, but I would try 3.72, then I would try all of them if that did not work. Let me know what happens as it would be good to know if it does in case someone else has the same game. -Semper Fi gyrene2083 |

| GamingCrazy Newbie ![]() | Re: Updated guide on how to get PSX on 3.90mm-3 sorry to bother, but i'm having trouble... i wasn't quite sure what you meant by root folder, so i copied the se_plugin files into MP_Root folder, and that didn't do anything... exactly what is "root" folder as you indicated on your tutorial, and where can i find it? also, there is a idcanager_old.prx in the 3.80 file and the same in the poploader folder included in the pops folder; do i copy over the one inside se_plugin, or do i leave it alone? thanks, and sorry i'm so lost... ^^;;; |

As far as the .prx goes, I'd use the one that came with the poploader folder that you are going to use. To be on the safe side make a copy of the one that you are going to replace. | |
