Catching up on thing

well after a year of not using my psp i've finally started using it again but now i want to for different reasons. The first question i have is, should i get an 8 gig or 4 gig memory stick for emulators and games? Can i use an 8 gig since i have 2.60 firmware. And is there any guides on how to start using emulators or homebrew?

First of all emulators and game ISO's can not be run off of official firmware except 1.50. You will need to upgrade to a custom firmware such as 3.90m33-3 or 4.01m33-2 as they will support all games that are currently out. Either a 4gb or 8gb memory stick will work on those versions. I think that only the 4gb will be supported on your current firmware.

Here is a link to a guide on the process to downgrade to 1.50. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

From there you can go to 3.52m33 release > 3.52m33-4 > 3.90m33-3 or 4.01m33-2. That is the upgrade steps for installing the latest custom firmware.

The tutorial section is full of guides and links to emulators with instructions.

Re: Catching up on thing

thanks so much :] i'll get to it soon as i can. after not paying attention to the psp scene for so long i didn't know where to start again. Is it possible for me to upgrade to 2.70 so i can use the 8gig still somehow then use that program to use the homebrew?

No it’s not. You better off downgrading to v1.50 then installing a custom firmware. Follow the link that gandalf gave you to downgrade back to v1.50, then you can install any custom firmware you like. Have a look in the tutorial section for the update guides.
