Hombrew apparently won't run on my SLIM 3.90m33

Okay, So i've tried SCV Player, Doom for PSP, and gpsp on my Slim. I've turned the 3.90 Kernal to 1.50 and its still didn't work. I even used 4.XX and that didn't work either. What the hell am doing wrong? I've slapped the applications into the GAME folder, GAME150 Folder, and even GAME371 Folder. I've even put them in all three differn't folders at once. That didn't work. >.> It alwasy gives me the Error code (8002014C) when i place it in my GAME Folder. And it gives me the Error code (80020138) when in the GAME150 folder. I'm able to play ISO's and use plugins. Even playstation games work. Can someone let me know whats up with my SLIM? (PS I have a Darthvader Slim. LONG LIVE THE REPUBLIC PS.PS. My name was supposed to be Deathscreton. Not deathscret. Misspelling. XD)

Re: Hombrew apparently won't run on my SLIM 3.90m33

I'm a little confused at what firmware you are running. 3.90m33 or 4.01m33? If you are on 3.90m33 then the Game folder needs to be named GAME380, if you are on 4.01m33 the game folder needs to be named GAME4.xx.

Also if it is a slim, even tho the 1.50 kernel option shows up in the recovery menu you can not run it. Do not attempt to install the 1.50kernel addon to the slim as there is a good chance of a brick. The slim simply can not run it.

Re: Hombrew apparently won't run on my SLIM 3.90m33

So i'm stuck with a SLIM and no hombrew? That was the whole purpose of me switching to Custom Firmware in the firstplace. V_V I did read somewhere that somthing called Timemachine coud help. What is that? By the way, When you said the GAME folder to GAME380, Are you talking about the Folder named just GAME or the folder named GAME371? (I'm on 3.90m33. When i first went CFW, i was 4.01m33 But then i bricked it by trying to add a custom XMB Menu. So i had to reflash it. (Yeah, i didn't back up the VSH folder. Stupid m. Hahah.) I just never reupdated because there was this game, FF8 that kept crashing on me. >.< They said it worked perfect on 3.90m33. So yeah, and it doesn't work perfectby the way. Getting off track, Sorry.)

If you are on 3.90m33 then the GAME371 folder has changed to GAME380. The same goes for 3.80m33, the didn't change the GAME380 between those 2 versions. 4.01m33 uses GAME4xx so the same GAME4xx folder will work for all 4.xx firmware versions.

There are several if not all homebrew now that works for the 3.xx kernel(aka slim version) and above so you should not have to give up anything. Just look for homebrew that says it's for the slim.

Here is a link for time machine: View Comments and Ratings - PSP Crazy Forums - PSP Games, PSP Downloads, PSP News, and PSP Themes

NOTE: Pandora Battery Required to run Time Machine.

As far as the compatibility of the homebrew: If the application only has 1 folder and no files that have a % sign associated with it then it is Slim compatible, most of what you already have is probably Slim compatible. If you have trouble running any of them it is because if they go into the GAME(firmware #) folder and if it is not the correct one for the firmware that you are running it won't work.

3.71m33 > GAME371
3.80m33 > GAME380
3.90m33 > GAME380 they did not change it for this firmware
4.01m33 > GAME4xx

If you format the memory stick with the PSP it will create the correct folder for you when it formats. Be sure to save anything you want to keep first.

Okay, I just downloaded Doom for PSP 0.05 and placed it in my GAME folder. It worked. No percentage signs or anything. Then i placed it in my GAME380 folder. (Corrected thanks to you. ) and it didn't work. So i'm guessing you just have to guess what folder certain hombrew falls into correct? (And i have a SLIM Pandora battery. Made it mahself. )

Yeah most of the homebrew that I run across runs out of the GAME folder, but there are some that run from GAMExxx folder. Sometimes the readmes tell you where to put them but most of the time it's trial and error. For certain you would not put anything for the slim in the GAME150 folder. The 1.50 option shows up in the recovery menu only because it's the same firmware for the phat and slim, only on the slim it is disabled, and the GAME150 folder shows when formatting also for the same reason.

Understood. Maybe Alex will come out with somthing in the future that'll make 1.50 Kernal, (Or all homebrew period) Run on the Slim. (I'm not intirely sure why it won't run. I never got into that. XD) Or maybe all Homebrew will switch to 3.XX, That would make things a bit easier.

The 1.50kernel was to have ended with 3.90m33-3. It surprised everyone that he went ahead and supported it. The whole development group has said that the 1.50 kernel is obsolete now, and really it is. Nearly all of the homebrew now has been change to not need it. I would not be surprised to see 4.01m33-2 to be the last of the 1.50 kernel addons.

When the slim came out there was a hardware change that prevented 1.50 from running. Actually Time Machine is not running a true 1.50, it's a hybrid of 1.50 and 3.40 with changes to allow it to run on the hardware.
