yes you will have to. and in your case, you will have to use a pandora's battery to install a custom firmware. have a look over in the "Tutorial" section for some guides on how to make one.

hey i tried this app and pasted it in my game folder ... apparently i have 3 which is weird? im kinda new. uh its GAME, GAME150 and GAME371. So i posted it on the first one. and it just said it was corrupt. can i just delete the rest and leave GAME? .. sorry im kinda new at this. im using the 3.9 custom btw.

the extra "GAME...." folders are for your homebrew apps and games. if you don't intent in using any homebrew app/games, then you could delete them. but i suggest you don't. since you updated your firmware, you haven't formatted your mem card. if you were to do so now, the psp will make the "GAME150" and a "GAME390" folder. but as you already have a "GAME371" folder, just simply rename it "GAME390". when you go into the "recovery menu", you will see kernal option. when you select it, it will either change to "kernal 150" or "kernal 390". this is a setting for the homebrew apps/games.

regarding this app that your having trouble getting to work. put the folder (containing the app) into the "GAME150" and set the kernal (in the recovery menu ) to 150. not try to run the app again. if it still doesn't work, put the app into the "GAME390" folder and set the kernal, then try again.

Idk i bought the PSP and i want it louder i havent touched anything on it ive put music on and this app so far

in order for this homebrew app to work, your psp must be on firmware v1.50 or on a custom firmware.

what firmware your psp is on?
