Sony's official PSP cradle is a thing of beauty

Sony's official PSP cradle is a thing of beauty

Released in Japan, Sony's official PSP cradle is a magnificent thing of beauty. For those that want to use PSP as a mini-theatre of sorts will certainly want to snag this elegantly designed peripheral. The remote will allow you to turn on your PSP, and control every function of the XMB.

I wouldn't go as far as 'beauty' but it certainly looks smart and the remote is very cool . I could be tempted by one of these if I can get a hold of one.

Yes might be quite interesting, just wondering if it would work with a phat?? The picture has a slim in it. Since the remote ports have different functions between the phat and slim didn't know if there would be any conflicts. I know that the video out would not function on the phat.

Lol, hmm, yeah beauty maybe not quite the word, but if it's Japan, small things = best. And it is very cool anyway.

If they available here I may buy one, but I doubt it, if I had a slim I'd be more tempted too............although i do watch videos on train journeys, could be useful, better stand than a PGP case too...........me want

Re: Sony's official PSP cradle is a thing of beauty

I dunno, I mean haven't they already came out with cradles that have the remote feature or at least something built in to it? Well anyway as far as small goes I guess that's a good thing but personally I like it to be a bit bigger so I know something won't happen to it. I mean if it's something small as the PSP itself I fear you'll either pick the unit up without unhooking it or worse knock it off a table because the charger wasn't weighted enough.

I like to use the "Logic3 PSP Sound System Mini Theatre" on my desk in the Family Room while in my Office/Bedroom use the "Hip Interactive (LM667) Stereo Station +" both of which have incredible sound output to them and charge the PSP at the same time. Also they both have controls on them to work the PSP, perhaps not in the way of the XMB so much but it works for what you want. I mean if your going to sit back and watch your PSP it might as well be hooked up to the TV with PSP2TV (Camera or Case Mod kind) Unless this cradle is just for the Slimline PSP, if so chances are the AV Out is built in the cradle already.

Eh anyway I suppose it doesn't matter too much. It's all a dependancy of comfort and what kinda thing you like to use on a daily bases. I suppose a plus is that this is made by Sony for the product they made so it should work 100% effective for the PSP. Well anyway I'll wait to see some of your opinions to estimate if it's worth getting or not.

Re: Sony's official PSP cradle is a thing of beauty

^ I'm afraid it's Slim only compatible which is a big shame. But how does the Remote work? or is it connected to the PSP? I mean .. the PSP-2000 doesn't InfaRed like the PSP-1000 has .. or maybe it's wireless?

Well I'm gonna get one soon, on PlayAsia for around $70 with the cable for tv-out,

Re: Sony's official PSP cradle is a thing of beauty

The remote probably works by linking to the dock itself which may have and IR port. Since the PSP is hooked into it perhaps there is some hardware connection that has been installed to make the feed active?

Re: Sony's official PSP cradle is a thing of beauty

That does look fairly nice but the remote seems a bit WAY too smooshed together I wouldn't have minded if it looked like the PS3 remote because heck it's a remote. It's not exactly meant for traveling around lol. A cradle is meant to be at home/work, so the remote should have been made hotter like the cradle. I'll take the third party version over this if I was going to buy it, but that's my choice.
