Re: How to Install Custom XMB Themes

sorry but official firmware does not have a recovery menu. you need to install a custom firmware. to install a custom firmware, you need to use a pandora's battery. ask one of your friends if they have one that you can use. or you could either buy one from the likes of ebay or amazon. or you could make your own. have a look in the tutorial section for some guides on how to make a pandora's battery.

like i mentioned in the above posts, to enter the recovery menu, your psp must have a custom firmware installed. the recovery menu is a part of the custom firmware.

Only custom firmware has the option to go into recovery menu.

if you have powered down the psp, then it will brick. the only way you can fix it, is by using a pandora's battery.
I am having the same problem. I have done exactly what the tutorial has says and when I turn my PSP on it freezes after it shows "Sony Computer Entertainment". I replaced the battery icon with the original batttery icon and that has also not fixed the problem. If there is no other way to fix it can you please upload your flash0 file to a file sharing site? Btw my PSP is on CFW 3.90m33

Thank you for your help

as good practice, you should have made a back-up of your flash0 folder before you started to mess around with it. but don't worry, you are not and will not be the only person who doesn't make a back-up. the trouble of using someone ells back-up, is that you could brick your psp. i've heard it loads of times. but i've also heard success with using someone ells flash folders. at the end of the day, it's up to you. you asked if i can upload a v3.90m33 flash folder for you, but i can't. im on v3.90m33-3. i have a back-up of v3.90m33-2 if you want it. but like i said earlier, if you were to use a back-up that has a different version, then it could brick your psp. i would not recommend you using it on a v3.90m33. unless you were to update to v3.90m33-2 then i would.
