| GamingCrazy Guru ![]() | Re: i need help with my psp Alright well where to begin? As far as games are concerned here's what you need to do: UMD games...go in the UMD slot on your PSP, just make sure you can play them with your current firmware...trust me you'll know right away if you can't. ISO's go in the ISO folder, make sure to have the NOUMD option selected in the recovery mode so you can play them without a UMD in the unit. Unless you want that then...go ahead I guess. Homebrew games fall under three catagories: 150/3XX/Universal 150 Back wayyyyyy back in 2005 we needed to convert games in order to be played on the 1.50 firmware because the 1.00 ones did not work. Games that's converted to play on the 1.50 firmware meaning a game with 2 folders, one with a % somewhere on it go into the GAME150 folder. 3XX/4XX Are games made specifically to work for that firmware and need to be in this folder, like PSPoste 7 Universal HB games are pretty much and game or app that can be placed in the GAME folder and require nothing to boot them. This also includes most of the old 1.00 ones...although I'm not too sure why you'd want to run them but eh, to each it's own right? Always check the readme files that come with any app or game to see what and where they need to be. Also it's important to have the XX kernel active in order to use the homebrew the way you need to. Also have the 1.50 Kernel installed, if you installed the firmware via the M33 Updater method you should already have it. If not go to Dark Alex's site for it. - - - - Themes: Well now you have two options here: Flashing a theme to your PSP or using CXMB. Flashing a theme will make it so that every-time you put on your PSP the theme will stay forever until you want to change it. Now the downside to flashing is that you do stand a chance at semi-full bricking if you screw up but it's not that difficult to do right in the first place. Just make sure to back up your F0 files before you do anything. What you need to do is go to a place like Consolespot.net and you can download a theme for your firmware. To install a theme on a PSP, go to your recovery menu > Advanced > Toggle USB (flash 0) *I would suggest you back up F1 as well seeing as it's your net settings* Well anyway once actived you should see an unknown or un-named drive appear on your computer (PC) or desktop (Mac). DON'T Change the name of these at all, I'm sure you won't but some people are anal about customizing drive names and such. Anywho once you've opened the drive make sure to drag everything and anything in that folder to somewhere safe in order to back it up. Now all you really do need is the VSH folder but still, you never know right? When flashing themes all you need to do is just replace the files in the built in theme with the ones given with the downloaded one. If your having some issues installing a them try taking out prx's that you don't need: Like if you don't have a PS3 nor wish to connect to one, take out the PS3 connect files, same with the camera and such. Well anyway if you need more help on flashing a theme just check out Youtube or this forum to find your answer. CXMB This is a slightly more safer way to theme your PSP if your a little too squeamish about the whole flashing method. Installing the plugin will allow you to lite-flash the PSP and as long as you have the memorystick in the PSP you'll have the theme. Once the memorystick is removed the theme will go back to defeault upon the next restart. Also you can choose the theme via the theme options on the system menu. Now I'm not going into the method of install for this one as I haven't used it in a long time but you can find a thread about it here in the forums or Youtube. You can easily make or convert current themes for use with CXMB as well, check the previous sources noted above. Well anyway, that should answer any and all of your questions but in case you need more help let me or the other members know and we'll see what we can do for you.
