Anyone have any links to news on the NR? Post 'em here please. What are specs gonna be like? I heard that it's only going to have half again as much power as the gamecube... which would be weird, how can it compete with the 360 and PS3 if it's that limited?

it think you mean double gamecube power, but the point is that the way of gaming is more important than how pretty it looks.

I dunno dude... I think good graphics are, while not pivotal to good gameplay, important to the average gamer. And also, so far as the NR goes, I remember breezing through a magazine and seeing the controller.... or should I say remote? I don't know how functional that would be with an FPS... I guess we'll have to wait and see

If you think about it, the more powerful the systems become, the longer it takes to make a game since now the developers have to put every single hair and wrinkle into the character models, and make them animate more realisticaly since they look better. By limiting the power to a point where it's right in the middle so you have good enough looking graphics with not too long a development time is probably a good idea. anyway, the more detailed you get, the less you notice that it's more detailed unless you zoom in and examine it.

With the Cartoony style of Mario, I doubt Nintendo will have to add every single hair.

I doubt it will be very powerful, it won't be anything comparable to PS3 and 360.

i heard it will be have the power of ps3 and x360 but also half the price. i feel that it will do well for the kids and us loyal nintendo character fans.

Nintendo is becoming the console for children -- are they marketing it that way on purpose? God knows many parents would be thrilled to have a console that plays only rated G-material.

keep in mind that no specs has been release regarding to NR, what we know so far are opnions and rumors.

The specs are not a factor for me... as long as it is more powerful than the current systems, i will be happy.

However, i will be unhappy if this turns out like the origonal playstation, and unable to play 2d games well. But, since nintendo seems intent on selling us old, 2d games for the system, i dont think this will be an issue.
