I bought a Wii at release and hardly used it because of the lack of decent games.
I now no longer own a Wii because I find that the console and games have been dumbed down to appeal to non-gamers.
It's a shame, I thought Nintendo would be able to keep me interested in the Wii but they failed.
I was starting to get bored with the Wii for a bit I mean after about an half hour or so you've pretty much done anything you wanted to do on it, voting and such. I was about to give up on it until I finally got the guts to install the Homebrew Channel on it, now I can't stop using it lol. I have my PSP and Wii Emu's set up so that when I leave I play on the PSP and then transfer the save data over to the Wii and pick up from there. I may not want to mod my system to play DVD's but I haven't an issue with using the Mplayer or Wii MFE to get my Anime and video fix on. Well I do watch my stuff all my PSP but it's nice to come home and pop in the SD card and watch it on the big screen you know what I mean?
Man the best thing is not having to encode an episode to 5-6 parts in order to fit it on the SD card, man Motion JPEG....what were you thinking Nintendo?
I had 2 Wii's at one point then decided to sell the extra as I didn't need it. But it's a great system that introduced a new way of playing that is more accessable for people and a whole new dimention of gaming.
Its a bit odd at first to interact with you TV by movement rather than button response, but it does give this immersive appeal.
One game I suggest to try on the Wii is No More Heroes as makes good use of the Wii controls. So you position the 'Mote if you are going to attack hi/low and use both the knunchuk and 'Mote for wrestling moves.
The graphics aren't as good as other systems, but I'm old skool and I go more for gameplay than anything (and after that, story) so the Wii does appeal to me.

Well that's Nintendo's style, not so perfect graphics but faster load times and better game playability. I was thinking about this the other day, I was wondering if it would have been better if they stuck with the name "revolution" but then I thought about it and realized that would kinda only gear it toward the teen and adult users. Wii is universal but still I think a better name could have been put in place for it don't you think? Luckily I restructured my speech to be "I play on my Wii video game system" or "I play on the system" I still want to say the norm "I play with my Wii, or I play on the Wii" but I feel that would be awkward if you know what I mean.
Wanted one for a while i suppose for a few certain games. So i bought one on Friday and got Mario Kart free with it (one of the games i wanted). Its fun ..a welcome change to the 360. Might pick up Galaxy sometime next week!
