Mario Strikers Charged Football

Mario and Chums are back in another football game for the Wii and being the first game to take adventage of the Wii's online capabilities, will it live up to its expactations? We will soon find out!

Story
There isnt much of a story...basicly there are a series of 10 matches every cup and you have to rank in the top 4 to be in the elemenation section and survive to take on the champ, basic mario stuff...

Graphics
To be honest, i was dissapointed with the graphics a little, yes they are lovely and colourful, yet they seem pixelated in places, yet the stadiums look nice and overall the game looks nice, not much to rant about, yet they could be better, if zelda can give us great graphics, why couldnt this have?

Sound
Nothing to complain about here, the sounds are good and generally go with the pitch and the tension as the game advances, and all the sound effects wook well with the game, nothing here to complain about

Controls
Now you have to admit that the fact of playing a football game motion sensored seems a little odd, yet i have to admit that the controls for this game are very well done, you use the nunchuck to move your character and fire weapons and trigger special moves, and the wiimote is used to shoot, pass and if u shake it, you take players, and it all very well put together, so i am defenatly praising it, as nintendo did very well with this aspect of the game.

Gameplay
Gameplay is generally very fast paced, and action packed, which is a good thing, yet it is let down by the fact that at points in a game, you will find that the game slows down alot after a goal or during a series of shots at the goal, and this can have a huge affect on the game, as you dont have time to get to the ball as you are moving too slowly, and this also appears alot more frequently when playing online, yet il go into that in a second, otherwise, the gameplay is generally very good, yet at times can get very frustrating as most people will find out

Multiplayer
Now because of the online play, this games multiplayer will be very popular, yet what is it like...well, once i had grasped the basics and played a few matches, went online..it all was fine till i got ingame against this guy, and all i had was SLOWDOWN AND LAG, everytime i tryed to shoot at the goal, the game almost locked up because of the lag, and when i did finally score, it took ages cause the sequesnce that followed ran too slowly....come on nintendo, i hope to god this improves...when playing with a mate though the game is fine and great fun as you can go against him or with him. Online is great fun, but needs work on the lag, come on nintendo..sprt it out

Difficulty
This game isnt too hard to start with...yet when you start getting deeper into the game, the computer become very aggresive and have a tendancy to get you yelling and cursing at the tv as they just scored 4 goals on 10 seconds, and this becomes more frequent, to play well, you will have to practice...alot, the game will get very tedious at times, yet if you keep working on it, you will beat them.

Replay Value
After you finally finish all the cups, there is still more for you to do, there is a strikers chalenges, in which you have to certain tasks to win a game or make a world record, and as you advance, they get seriously hard, they will keep you for a while, then you have all the online play, and that will keep for you years to come. There is alot here, thats is you dont et too annoyed with the cup matches and want to keep going with the rest.

Overall
Overall, this game has loads to offer...and if you are an avid footy lover, you will like the fact that this is no holds barred football, yetsince i cant stand football half of the time, the concept of being about to beat the hell out of the surrounding players seemed great and thats why i like this game so much. Online does well, yet can get annoying due to the constant slowdowns and lag, yet without those in mind, it will last for years to come, and with all the chanenges and if you play with friends, this game will be a great laugh, just dont smash your Wii or tv in frustration when you 1 second away from winning and the CPU scores...it happens and WILL make you scream

This game will have you hooked, yet just dont get too pissed off with the fact your opponents can get very frustrating...

I've been wondering about this game, mainly due to the fact that it is online. If it wasnt, i wouldnt even be considering it though.
Still not completely sure on it, so think im going to go and rent it

Very nice review. Seems good. I didn't get a chance to purchase the Gamecube version, and now I can get the better Wii version . It sucks it comes out July 30th here though .

i have to say this game is very addictive, just dont get to annoyed over some of the annoying things that will happen in the game

Hah, just tried this game last night. Wasnt sure how i'd like it. But i flipping loved it

Played in two played mode against my hunni, was good fun, both won a couple games
Then tried online.
I got pwned, cuz, i hadnt done the tutorial lol but was fun. Didnt lag for me, not that i noticed anyway.

Gonna have another go on it in a bit, 1 player mode then give online a try again

Then gotta buy the game i think, cuz i's borrowin it at the mo
