Dead Rising Review

Dead Rising
Xbox 360

Shopping will never be the same again after you experience the Parkview Mall. Inside these walls dwell zombies, psychopaths, horror, death and low, low prices!

Plot
You are Frank West, photojournalist. Frank arrived in Willamette after being tipped off that the story of a lifetime is there waiting for him. And by golly it is! The United States army has the perimeter blocked and the whole town in quarantine. Frank and his charter pilot are forced to land their helicopter on the roof of the mall. And so the story begins....

Story
The story is quite a good one. It incorporates lots of decisions that may or may not effect the way the story goes. You can choose which missions to do and in which order, giving the game lots of replay value as you will want to go back and try different things.

Gameplay
This games has some of the best designed gameplay, with some of the most frustrating flaws. The controls are a bit strange but nothing that you can't get used to. The only problem is aiming. Like Resident Evil, you can't move while aiming. But this is just a minor setback. One save slot can be frustrating at times but it didn't affect me personally. There is a slight RPG element that is good without going over the top. Certain things give you PP (Prestige Points). This can be anything from good photos, defeating psychopaths, killing thousands of zombies and more. The environment is amazing. Everything is a weapon. Benches, chain-saws, excavators or even paintings. There is literally everything you can think of! If its not nailed down, you can use it. Some same goes with food and clothes.

Graphics/Sound
Why word, i have no idea how they got these sound but they sure do sound real. The chopping the screaming, the moaning of zombies. The sound of a zombie's vital organs spill onto the floor. It is pure bliss. From a realistic point of view. The graphics are pretty good for a launch game.

Scores
Story - 8/10
Gameplay - 8.5/10
Sound/Graphics: 8.5
Overall: 8.5/10

I recommend you buy this game. It is in classics. (Not sure if thats in America or England ect.)Which means its Cheap. I got mine for $50 AUS.
