Media Center and playing movies.

I have finally setup media center on my xbox 360 which was such a pain in the ass to start with. Luckly I am a pc technician and I knew how to install the Rollup 2 update manually or i'de have been screwed. Anyways, after dealing with all that mess I finally get it to connect. I click over to My video's and attempt to play a movie. It tells me that it cannot play my video no matter which video I pick because its either corrupt or the codec for the movie is not installed. The codec's are installed on my computer and I can play the videos in media center on my computer so I know they arent corrupt. My question is, how do I install the codecs to the xbox 360 so they will play?? I can play music and view pictures just fine, just FYI.

Re: Media Center and playing movies.

If I remember correctly, it gives you the option of saying ok to it, that you need to download the codec but I believe one of the buttons takes you to download it. If not, just go to the store and search for it. Under which category I'm not sure, it gave me the option to download it - even though I didnt see it at first.

Re: Media Center and playing movies.

Go to the Game MarketPlace and go to Browse all.

Find and download "Other Media Devices" or something close to that, i know its starts with an O. Its free! Once thats done, try playing your videos again
