Update Dashboard with out LIVE?

I have a box that was banned from xbox live. I need to do a dashboard update to keep up with the rest of the changes and play the newer games. Is there a way to update the dash board without getting on live.

I read that it will update with a burned disk but I havent had any luck getting it to load up, Just says MIXED MEDIA DISK in the game bar and dosn't do much else.

I know some of the Official Xbox 360 Magazine demo discs had Dash Board updates included on them and most of the discs included patches for original Xbox games.

I am not sure which versions of the Dashboard are on which discs but there is proabably a listing on the OXM web site.

as far as i know there is no way to update the xbox 360 dashboard without an internet connection but there may be updates on newer xbox360 games the only way to test it is to try
