| Guest | Faulty 360 help I've got a 360 Premium console which is faulty. The fault is that it does not always read disks. Just over a year old and has gone out of warrenty with Microsoft. Has got the latest "firmware" on it (1.3) And its a Sammy drive. It's had the laser changed, but no luck getting it to read discs. Originals read better than backups. I think it probably needs the drive replacing. I didnt flash it, or put the latest firmware on it, had that when I got it. My question is.............if i get the drive changed, will it need to be replaced with a Sammy drive, and, tbh, i have no idea how the 360 is flashed so will changing the drive affect it? I can get it repaired for £60, but I want to be able to play backups on it lol ![]() |

I know a friend who bought a broken xbox 360 for $70 and exchanged with the one at costco. They have really easy return. This was done a week ago and it comes with a benq drive. Isn't all drive moddable? |
