PSP Firmware 2.80 Released

Although not yet listed on all the regional PSP websites, firmware 2.80 has been released by Sony and isn’t just security fixes.

The official Japanese PSP website has updated their PSP page to refelect the latrst firmware download.


So what new features are included in this firmware?, find out below:

Network:
  • (RSS Channel), download function for animation and image contents is now supported.
  • (Location Free Player), It’s now possible to use a Wireless LAN access point to login.
               Infomation on Location Free Base Station can be found here


Music:
  • AAC files with .3gp extensions can now be played.


Misc:
  • Saving to MUSIC, PHOTO, VIDEO folders supported.
  • Support for next downloadable game demo.


If you haven’t already, go to Network Update on the PSP menu and download the latest firmware version.

2.80 has already been decrypted, the same day it was released, in Sony's face. Expect Devhook .46 with 2.80 emulation soon.

AntonioDragonX, I think what it means, not sure though, is that if you have two different folders under photo you can select to save a picture under the folder under photo instead of in the photo section iteself. In my case I devided my different pictures into different folders to organize them, when I saved it through the psp browser it wouldnt go into any sub folders so I couldnt organize the pictures. If this does what I think I can now place it in the appropriate folder under photo
