iPSP: iPhone portal for the PSP
Posted by killswitch23456 on 14/10/2007

There is now a new portal for the PSP to turn your internet homepage into a iPhone theme. Here is a EASY step by step guide.

There is no chance of bricking your PSP while installing it so don’t worry!

FOR OFFICAL SONY FIRMWARE USERS :

1) Get a PSP with firmware 2.71 or above.

2) Go to a place with WiFi. Make sure your WiFi Switch it on.

3) With WiFi enabled, go to System Settings, and enable Flash Player.

FOR CUSTOM FIRMWARE USERS :

1) Go to Recovery Mode

2) Go to Registry Hacks, and Activate the Flash Player.

3) Done, you don’t need to connect to the internet.

iPSP INSTALLATION :

There is no chance of bricking your PSP while installing it so don’t worry!

1) Download zipped file: Click Here

2) Open it with WinRAR , if you don’t have WinRar download it from here . Then connect your PSP to your computer via the USB cable.

3) Unzip the folders with WinRar and copy both folders into the ROOT of the memory stick. When it asks if you want to overwrite it, say yes.
NOTE: The ROOT of the PSP is not the MP_ROOT it is Removable hardisk (H: , I: , J: etc) which is the drive that pops up when you connect your PSP to the PC the place with “PSP” , “MP_ROOT” folders etc .

iPSP USERS GUIDE :

1) To use iPSP go to the “internet browser” (You do not need WiFi this time)

2) Make the address bar come up, then go to Tools>Settings>Cache Settings>and make cache size as “DO NOT USE "

3) Then go to the ADDRESS BAR and type in “ file:/PSP/COMMON/ipsp/index.html ” without the quotes. If you want to save time, Bookmark it or make it your homepage.

4) Now it will ask you if it can play the plugin, say yes.

5) Congrats! You now have your very one iPSP! Now turn your PSP vertical and use the analog stick as your cursor and your X button to choose what you want.

NOTE: If you get memory errors just delete your cache.

Sweet, touchscreen is overated anyway. Also I hate to be a downer here but I suppose they should come up with another name, there is a Mac app called iPSP it works kinda like PSPWare. Other than that I believe this is an awsome web app, we need more like it (I know we have quite a few, but nothing really good in my book.) Well anyway I'll try this out now, lol I'll go to the mall tomorrow and pretend to talk into it, when people ask I'll say it's iPhone on the PSP!

Perhaps that is what I did, well anyway I fooled 7 people into thinking I had an iPhone on the PSP, I felt bad because they were going to buy the PSP because of this feature, I let them all know this was an homebrew and not real. That's the last time I do something like this, for now.

...It says that the content cannot be displayed. =/ And am I supposed to put the files in the COMMON folder? Cause you said to put it in ROOT. So I made a folder called ROOT in the place where it first pops up. Please help. I have 3.71 Official FW.

The root of your PSP is where you go when you first open your PSP on your PC or Mac, within that file you should have these files -PSP -MP_ROOT Optional folders (Provided you have RSS Feeds or not) -MUSIC -VIDEO It is true you can place the files in the download here into your COMMON file, this just means the link you'll have to use to gain access is a bit longer to type. To make it easy just dump this download into the root directory, the PSP root. Now as long as you have your flash player enabled, go to the web browser and type in this address file:///ipsp/index.html if you do have it in the COMMON folder then type in this address file:///PSP/COMMON/ipsp/index.html and viola! You should now be able to access iPhone on the PSP! If you need anymore help on this let me know man, email me on my site www.darksidehearts.com
