Ignition Entertainment have unvelied their latest puzzle game for PSP. Mercury Meltdown’s aim is to impove all of the aspects of the first Mercury game. The visuals and gameplay mechanics have all been improved in some new or important way.
The most noticable feature, is the graphics style has changed since the original Mercury. The graphics are a vibrant cartoony style and levels include crazy themes and designs. A free-look camera allows players to glance around the level for help.
Mercury Meltdown has double the number of levels compared to the original Mercury which was 84 levels, and a variety if challenges such as vertical and speed-based sections. A number of party modes are also included in Mercury Meltdown, featuring hundreds of additional maps. Party games include, Race Mode, Rodeo Mode (hang onto a moving platform for as long as possible), Paint Mode(Colour over a target using your blob of mercury), Metrix Mode (colour matching puzzle game) and Shove Mode (looks like "Blob Curling", but little is known about this mode).
Three new additional forms are supported in the game, Slow Form is easier to control, but takes longer to move around, Fast Form, is harder to control but is alot faster, and the unbreakable Solid Form.
Wi-Fi multiplayer modes and unlockable skins to change the look of your mercury blob are also included in the game.
Hopefully more information and features will be revealed at this years E3.
